I understand how you feel, I used to do commissions, but I just can't anymore. The performance anxiety on top of the usual anxiety was just too much, also the constant pestering of difficult clients had made me absolutely despise making art, even for my own amusement.
Slowly over the past couple of years, I have been only working on things that I am absolutely passionate about and that I want to do, and, in the politest way possible, anyone wanting art can go fuck themselves. Occasionally I get a request from a friend or family which is harder than doing it for strangers, but for the most part, they understand when I can't.
I hope you find some kind of peace from the incessant fluttering of anxiety, and if you find it, I hope you will grace us with your talented presence once again, completely on your terms of course, but if not, I sincerely wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
